William S. Rowan, Jr., 52, of New Sewickley Twp. died Sunday, January 16, 2011 in his mother’s home.

Born December 20, 1958 in New Brighton was the son of Kathryn E. Roth Rowan and the late William S. Rowan, Sr. he was a dry waller and finisher for Fagan’s in Wexford. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Brighton. His interests were airplanes and trains.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his grandparents Hugh and Elvira Rowan and Charles and Elizabeth Roth; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Charles and Mary Roberts; and an uncle, Lewis Rowan.

Surviving in addition to his mother is his wife of 30 years Sharon K. Roberts Rowan; a sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Anthony Gaetano, III, Wilson, NC; special niece and nephews, Arianna, Anthony III, Dominic and Dante Gaetano; a sister-in-law, Ruth Carrico, Rochester, PA; three nephews, Paul, Richard and D. Carrico; sister-in-law, Bridget Fordyce, FL, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John “Buddy” and Ellen Roberts, Beaver Falls and Charles and Judy Roberts, Beaver; aunts and uncles, Richard and Bonnie Rowan, New Brighton, Charles Rowan, Monaca, Penny and Steve Wiemers, FL, William and Linda Roth, New Brighton, Richard and Linda Roth, Darlington, Charles and Sandy Roth, New Brighton, Walter Roth, Warren, OH, and Mary Rowan, Beaver Falls; numerous great-nieces and nephews and many friends.

Friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in the Campbell’s New Brighton Funeral Home,, 1133 Penn Avenue were services will be conducted on Friday at 11:00 AM with the Reverend William B. Henry, Jr. officiating.

Interment will follow in Beaver Cemetery, Beaver, PA.

Memorial contributions may be made, if desired, to MDA, 400 Penn Center Blvd., Suite 524, Pittsburgh, PA 15235 or to the ALS Research at UPMC Pittsburgh.

The family wishs to give special thanks to Rich and Merijane Tucker and special friends, Jay, Bruce, Steve and Eric.
