Darlene Kay Daugherty

November 18, 1943 — January 20, 2024

Darlene Kay Daugherty, age 80, of Petersburg, OH, passed away at her daughter’s home surrounded by many of her family at her side on Saturday, January 20, 2024 after a long battle with cancer. She was born in New Brighton, PA on November 18, 1943 and was a long time resident of New Middletown, OH. She was the daughter of the late Donald Cameron and Geraldine Pearl Douglass Cooper.

She was a homemaker and the most special mother in the world to all her children and grandchildren. She always made them number one in her life before anything else, including herself.

Some people have said that she has the biggest heart of anyone they have ever met, which shows in all the people whose heart she touched.

She leaves behind all the precious memories with her family, including sister, Bonnie Daugherty; two daughters, Dorothea (Chris) Comley; Darlene (Wendell, Sr.) Beatty; two sons, Raymond (Kelli) Gordon; Ronald (Roxann) Gordon; step daughter-in-law, Judy Gordon; grandchildren, Christopher (Megan); Michael (Caitlyn); a special granddaughter, Amber (Brandon); other grandchildren, Joey; Wendell, Jr.; Jennifer (Jon); Jimmy; Chelsey (Jeremiah); Shane (Hope); Katrina K. (Kenny); Misty (Patrick); Tim (Laurie); Brian; two nephews, Tad (Darlene) Miller; James (Ann) Daugherty; numerous great-grandchildren; and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Darlene was preceded in death by her oldest son, Donald Heitger; stepson, Ronald Gordon; brother-in-law, Jerry Daugherty; and granddaughter, Katrina Young Walsh.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Richard Simmons, Dr. Zeina, G El Amil, all the staff at Mercy Health Cancer Care and Oncology Center Hospital in Boardman, OH, as well as Hospice of the Valley.

Service arrangements were handled by Campbell’s Chippewa Funeral Home, Inc., 2618 Darlington Road, Chippewa Twp., PA 15010 (Randy R. Wheeler, supervisor, 724-843-2500).
