Donald Dwayne Barnes, Sr.

Donald Dwayne Barnes, Sr., age 91, of Chippewa Twp., PA, died on Thursday, July 31, 2025. He was born in Bakerton, PA on April 4, 1934 and was the son of the late David and Matilda Ann Mullholen Barnes. Donald retired as a foreman for Brush Creek Park. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in East Palestine, OH.

Donald is survived by his loving wife of forty-five years, Mary Lou Kerstetter Barnes; children, Barbara (Mark) Macuga of New Brighton, PA; Donna (James) St. John of New Brighton, PA; Michael (Dee) Barnes of New Brighton, PA; Staci (Michael Krisa) McCowin of East Palestine, OH; Benjamin (Angela) Barnes of East Palestine, OH; thirteen grandchildren ; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sister, Darlene LaMont of Bakerton, PA; sister-in-law, Betty (the late Charles) Henton of Chippewa Twp.; many nieces; nephews; cousins; and his fur companion, Daisy.

In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his son, Donald Dwayne Barnes, Jr.; six brothers; and two sisters.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. at Centenary United Methodist Church, 40 South Market Street, East Palestine, OH 44413.
