Jack Arthur Dewhirst

Jack Arthur Dewhirst, age 96, of Beaver Falls passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Providence Health and Rehab Center.

Jack was born on November 1, 1929, in New Brighton, PA, to the late Floyd and Emma (Bort) Dewhirst. Jack graduated from New Brighton High School and Garfield Business Institute. He spent his career working at Hydril Company as a purchasing manager until he retired.

In his leisure, Jack enjoyed reading western novels, completing crossword puzzles, and watching the Pirates and Steelers.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Dewhirst, who died in 2006, four brothers, Floyd; Mike; Donald; and James; two sisters, Helen Turek; and Betty McKinnis.

He is survived by his wife of seventy years, Mary (Donta) Dewhirst; daughter, Susan (George) Banyas; sister, Dorothy (Dick) Murray; brother-in-law, Sam (Nancy) Donta; four grandchildren, Andrew; Benjamin; Paige; and Matthew; two great-grandchildren, Penelope; and John; and numerous nieces; and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to gather to honor Jack’s memory at Campbell’s Chippewa Funeral Home, Inc., 2618 Darlington Road, Beaver Falls, PA 15010 (Randy R. Wheeler, supervisor, 724-843-2500) on Sunday, August 9, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. (The Traditional Greek Orthodox Trisagion Service will begin at 4:45 p.m.) A service officiated by Fr. Theodosios Palis will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026, at Noon at Kimisis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church, 2111 Davidson Street, Aliquippa, PA 15001. A burial will follow.

Should friends desire, memorial contributions in Jack’s name may be made to the Beaver County Humane Society, 3394 Brodhead Road, Aliquippa, PA 15001.
