Phyllis Jane Lane

January 1, 1960 — April 12, 2022

Phyllis Jane Lane, 61, of Beaver Falls, Pa, passed away after a 4 year battle with cancer, while residing in Edison Manor, New Castle, Pa. She was born in Beaver Falls, Pa to the late Henry and Anna May (Hunt) Wonsiecki. Her life began on the last baseball game of the year in Pittsburgh, on October 13, 1960, when Bill Mazeroski hit the world series ending winning homerun and her life ended on the first day of baseball in Pittsburgh, on April 12, 2022, the home opener. She graduated from Beaver Falls High School in 1978 and went on to study at Pitt Nursing School and Sewickley School of Nursing. After receiving her BSN, she began working at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. She spent some time away from nursing when she had her loving daughter and planned to return one day until her sickness struck. She enjoyed nature, the outdoors, bird watching, animals, walking, exercise and sports. She loved all her beloved Pittsburgh sports teams. Above all else, she valued the relationship she had with her daughter the most. She will always be remembered for her nurturing and loving manner. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Thomas Lane; daughter and biggest fan, Jocelyne Lane; and a brother, Jeffrey Wonsiecki. There was a private family service. Her private interment took place at the Beaver Falls Cemetery.
