Richard “Dick” Attisano, age 95, formerly of Beaver Falls, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at Tapestry Senior Living, Moon Township.

Born September 17, 1929 in Beaver Falls, he was a son of the late Dominic and Celeste (Salvano) Attisano. Dick was a 1947 graduate of Beaver Falls high school, where he was a team manager for the BFHS football and basketball teams. After graduation, he worked at Babcock & Wilcox Eastworks division from 1948-1986, and coached B&W Eastworks softball teams for numerous years. He was a member of Local 1082 United Steelworkers Union. Dick was a member of the Beaver Falls Recreation Department, where he coached basketeers from 1957-1982, and was a director of the Beaver Falls Senior Citizens from 1965-1985. He was also a basketball coach at St. Mary's Catholic grade school from 1957-1969. A member of the Beaver Falls American Legion, post 261, Dick served in various capacities over the years as adjutant, finance director, and post commander and county commander. He was a director of the American Legion baseball teams for 40 years. A current member of St. Monica's, and a former member of St. Philomena's Catholic Church, he served as an usher for many years at St. Philomena, and was a member of the Holy Name Society and the church committee. Dick was a lifetime member of the Beaver Falls Sons of Italy Lodge, and served on the Beaver Falls School Board for 21 years, retiring in 2016. He loved attending BFHS Tiger football games. He was married to the late Gertrude (Carvelli) Attisano for 69 years. In addition to his parents and wife, Dick was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Garroway, and 2 brothers-in-law, Harry Garroway and Louis Grzelka.

He is survived by 3 daughters, Cindy (Peter) Curry, of Plymouth, MA, Marcy (Dr. Howard) Edington of Pittsburgh, and Carrie Suarez of Baden; five grandchildren, Collin (Katie) Edington, Phillip Edington, Alexander (Cami) Edington, Gerry (Courtney) Suarez, Grace Suarez, and one great grandson, Eli Suarez; and a sister, Margaret (Peg) Grzelka. Dick loved Beaver Falls and his dedication to the town showed it!

Family and friends are invited to gather to honor Richard’s memory on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at Campbell’s Chippewa Funeral Home, Inc., 2618 Darlington Road, Beaver Falls, PA 15010 (Randy R. Wheeler, supervisor, 724-843-2500) from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the remembrance service at 4:00 p.m. A private burial will take place at Grandview Cemetery.
